Registration Steps
- Visit with an advisor to plan and confirm your schedule. See the Campus Connection Portal for registration appointment time.
(Register for Classes > View My Appointment Time)
- Clear any holds (negative service indicators) before registering. Holds may be checked on the
Campus Connection Portal (Maintain Personal
Data > Holds).
- If a course has a departmental restriction, obtain class permission from the
department offering the course. Departments can process class permissions via the Campus Connection Portal or the student can bring class
permit(s) to 110 Ceres Hall to be processed.
Student Responsibility
- If you were born on or after January 1, 1957, you must prove immunity to measles, mumps, and
rubella prior to registration. This can be accomplished by providing doctor's office
verification of two doses of measles, mumps, rubella vaccine received after one year of age and no
earlier than 1970. Call (701) 231-7331 for more information. If you have not mailed your immunity
verification in advance, then submit it at Student Health Service after arrival on campus. Failure to
comply will result in enrollment restrictions.
- You are responsible for following through on registration procedures. Once registered, if you decide
not to attend NDSU, you are obligated to terminate your registration by canceling your registration or
completing withdrawal procedures.
- While every effort is made to provide accurate and current information, course offerings and other
information listed are subject to change without advance notice. If a course is cancelled after you have
registered, however, you will be notified. It is your responsibility to update your address on Campus Connection or provide the Office of
Registration and Records with a current address.
- Remember that your registration is not complete until you pay your tuition and fees.
Note: NDSU reserves the right to void the registration of any student who
becomes ineligible for enrollment.
Class Permits
Courses that have departmental restrictions require departmental consent from the department offering
the course. The department can process class permission via Campus Connection or the student can bring
class permits to 110 Ceres Hall to be processed.
Course Wait Lists
For most courses, the Wait List
feature will be available through Campus Connection.
Collaborative Student Registration
Students wishing to take courses at other North Dakota University System institutions, concurrent with
their NDSU enrollment, may register "collaboratively" in 110 Ceres Hall. Collaborative students do not pay application fees. They may be
packaged for financial aid by NDSU for both NDSU and collaborative courses. Collaborative courses are not,
however, subject to the tuition cap.
Credit Load for Enrollment Status
Full-time student status:
- Undergraduates = 12 semester credits minimum (6 credits = half time)
- Graduates = 9 semester credits minimum ( 5 credits = half time)
Maximum credits per student/semester:
Tuition and fees are calculated using 12 credits as full-time (tuition cap) for both undergraduate and
graduate students.
