The MPN (Master Promissory Note) is a legal and binding document in which you agree to repay your student loan. Under this note, you may receive multiple subsidized and unsubsidized Federal Stafford loans over a maximum of 10 years. The advantage of using the MPN is that a new promissory note will not need to be signed for each new loan. Most lenders now provide E-signatures of the MPN, however, not all lenders have this capability. You will receive instructions on completing the MPN from the guarantee agency, when loans are processed in August. Follow the important tips at the bottom of the page to insure proper completion.
